SWOV is a centre for road safety research in the Netherlands and was founded in 1962. SWOV’s objective is to contribute to road safety by means of scientific research and dissemination of the results.

Amy Gillett Foundation (Australia)

The Amy Gillett Foundation is a charity wich aims to reduce the incidence of death and injury of bike riders. The Foundation was established in response to the death of the porfessional cyclist, Amy Gillett, who was hit by an out of control motorist whilst cycling with her national team mates in Germany in 2005.

33,900: The Australian Road Safety Collaboration (Australia)

33,900 people were killed or seriously injured in road crashes in Australia in 2010. The United Nations has declared 2011-2020 the Decade of Action for Road Safety. Road safety stakeholders in the non-government sector (NGO) in Australia are committed to making sure it is a Decade of Action where we all do more to improve road safety performance in Australia. 33900 is a collaboration framework for the people and organisations it represents. 

Monash University Accident Research Centre

The Monash University Accident Research Centre is a leading Australian injury prevention and control research institute. Its charter includes safety in all modes of transport, in the workplace, in the community and in the home. Located in the Victoria where compulsory bicycle helmet laws were first introduced in Australia, it conducted a large amount of research on helmet usage and efficacy in injury prevention in the early and mid 1990s.
