Hobart's North South Track (Australia)

The North South Track, opened in December 2011, is a 10.5 kilometre long shared use track within Wellington Park that links The Springs to the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park, the two most popular mountain bike riding destinations in Tasmania. In September 2012 the track won a Parks and Leisure Australia award for National Open Space Development.

Mawson Trail (Australia)

Close to 900 kilometres long, the Mawson Trail starts just north of Adelaide and travels to the outback town of Blinman in the Flinders Ranges. The trail includes little-used country roads, State forest and national park firetrails, farm access tracks and unmade or unused road reserves.

East Gippsland Rail Trail (Australia)

The East Gippsland Rail Trail runs between Bairnsdale to Orbost in Victoria. The trail stretches nearly 100km and was completed in 2006. The trail, a shared cycling, horse and pedestrian path, starts at the Mitchell River in Bairnsdale, 280 km east of Melbourne. It runs past picturesque farmland and crosses a spectacular trestle bridge over the Nicholson River. 

Nga Haerenga Cycle Trail (New Zealand)

The first of the New Zealand Cycle Trails were opened in August 2011. The trails were planned in February 2009 with the idea to build a network of cycle trails that would not only be a healthy and enjoyable way for Kiwis and international visitors to see the country but would also provide economic, social and environmental benefits for communities.

Ride Rotorua (New Zealand)

Whakarewarewa Forest on the southern outskirts of Rotorua contains one of the oldest trail systems in New Zealand. These master crafted trails have an unbeatable blend of proximity to the city centre, riding surfaces and topography. The Ride Rotorua website allows users to comment on and rate their trail experiences. The site also includes information about accommodation and transport options and links to local clubs. 

Top Trails WA website (Australia)

The WA Top Trails website highlights 50 of the state's best rails for cycling, mountain biking and walking. The site was launched in 2009 and includes information on the length and difficulty of the trail with maps and links to further information. The trails selected for the site were voted for by the public.

Munda Biddi Trail (Australia)

When completed, the Munda Biddi Trail in Western Australia will stretch over 1000 km from Mundaring to Albany, boasting a range of purpose built cycling facilities and traversing a wide variety of forest and coastal landscapes.  More than 21,000 visitors visit the trail each year. In mAy 2012 the Trail was open between Mundaring and Manjimup (approx 600km).

Trailflix (Australia)

Trailflix is a multimedia portal to Sydney mountain biking trails and off-street cycleways, including videos, photos, vodcasts, news, maps, blog, links, and wallpaper. Sydney has a wealth of bike trails in parks, forests and bushland, all of which makes up over 40% of the greater Sydney area. The site is aimed at: existing Riders looking for new destinations; and new riders looking for interesting places to ride with some guidance on trail difficulty.

7Stanes Mountain Biking Trails (Scotland)

The 7stanes are seven mountain biking centres spanning the south of Scotland, from the heart of the Scottish Borders to Dumfries and Galloway.  'Stane' is the Scots word for stone, and at each of the 7stanes locations, a stone sculpture reflects a local myth or legend.
